Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
IRLit is a one-person IT consulting and support business owned and operated by Matt Yule, serving Appleton, WI and the Fox Valley. This policy explains what information I collect, how I use it, and the choices you have. I keep it short and in plain English.
What I collect
When you use the contact form, I collect the details you choose to share: your name, email, phone, whether you're a home or business, the service you need, urgency, a description of the problem, and your preferred contact method. If we work together, I may also receive information about your devices and systems as needed to provide the service.
How I use your information
I use it to respond to your request, schedule and perform the work, send invoices, and follow up. I do not sell your information, and I do not use it to send marketing you didn't ask for.
Remote access
If your issue is handled remotely, I access your computer only during a support session that you can watch on your screen. I access only what's needed to diagnose and fix the problem. The session ends when we're done, and I do not keep permanent or hidden access to your computer. I do not copy, export, or share your personal files unless you ask me to as part of the work (for example, a backup).
How I store your information
Contact submissions are saved in the application's database. Access is limited to Matt as the account administrator. I take reasonable steps to keep it secure, but no system is perfectly secure.
Sharing
I don't share your information with third parties for marketing. I may share the minimum needed to provide a service you requested — for example, with a vendor when ordering equipment — and only when necessary.
Cookies and analytics
This site may use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic in aggregate if the site owner enables it. That tool uses cookies; you can block cookies in your browser. The site itself does not require cookies to function.
How long I keep your information
I keep contact and work records as long as needed for the business relationship and any legal or tax requirements. You can ask me to delete your contact details at any time by email.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you. Email mtyule01@gmail.com and I'll respond, usually within 30 days.
Children
This site and these services are not directed at children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If I update this policy, I'll change the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted on the site.
